The Weekend Roundup 'W'

It is (finally) a warm weekend for us in Southern New England - so time for Tom's fun meme The Weekend Roundup. the 23rd letter is features and I have an eclectic group for the week

Begins with 'W' is this historic photo of my Aunt Terry on VJ Day, 16 August 1945 - WAR IS OVER! The paper is the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the place is on Oregon Avenue in Steubenville, Ohio

And since I have a subscription to Newspapeers.com researching my dad's newspaper articles, I thought I'd share the actual head I was able to find:

Here my first Wheelchair van being Washed by daughter Allegra way back in 1997

Here is a Wedding from 2004.

Week's Favorite. This is a quiet pastel laden sunset taken yesterday, the end of a peaceful day. Have a great week all!

Throwback Thursday - Mr. and Mrs. Villers - 1926

Welcome to my first Throwback Thursday post. Today, we go back to Sept. 22, 1926 and the wedding of Grandma & Grandpa (aka Ralph and Agnes). The article was published on Sept. 22, 1926 in the Evening Review of East Liverpool, Ohio. I believe the photo is on that day. A 7 a.m. wedding is unusual in any era!

My heritage actually began in 1952

I recently started a subscription to Newspapers.com to find the variety of newspaper articles in his role as a news reporter (1960-1962). I found my parent's wedding announcement in The Daily Times of New Philadelphia, Ohio dated Oct. 9 1952.

Mom looks so lovely I think Dad wrote this wedding announcement. They don't write so descriptively these days it seems. What a find!
